The Magistrates’ records at SPRI tell us that Farmer was an AB (able bodied seaman) on ‘Southern Venturer’ and died of heart failure in position 58° 15′ South 28° 24′ West
There is no evidence as to whether he was buried at sea, but since he is not buried at Leith that would be a reasonable assumption.
