Irvin ‘Beaky’ Browning was an engineer on the government patrol vessel Pharos SG. The memorial was placed by his shipmates and is made of con rods from an engine. It is located near ‘Gun Hut’ a kilometer or so to the south of Grytviken, from where it has a direct view out to the open sea.
