In 2004 a memorial chapel was opened in Sandefjord, Norway, to commemorate the Norwegians who died and are buried on South Georgia.
Four plates, made from steel brought from the abandoned whaling station at Stromness in South Georgia, list the names of the Norwegians who are remembered in the Memorial Chapel.
