Falkland Islander Wayne was part of the SG government building team on the island for a few years. After his tragically early death, his best friend, who was also part of the building team, made this memorial from a strip of brass sourced locally, and 50-calibre shell case from the Falkland Islands Defence Force, where Wayne was a member for many years.
These guys never travel more than about twenty metres from a tracked vehicle, so putting this on top of Mount Duse, looking out over Cumberland East Bay, shows how much Wayne meant to them.
