The SPRI records tell us that Olsen was the master of the whal catcher 'AN 4' (previously 'Sonja'). He died in position 65 2'S 47 27'E (Possibly a mistake and should be W) when the bollard of the harpoon gun he was firing broke and the gun hit him. He had been on the Svend Foyn earlier in the season. The latter vessel was acting as factory for the operation.
