Ian B Hart, in Pesca (Aiden Elli 2001 ISBN 0 85628 299 5) tells us on page 187 that Julius was mate on Rosita and drowned while securing a large blue whale in 1906. He was the first Norwegian to be interred in the cemetery at Grytviken.
He is probably buried in grave B6 or B10 in the earliest area of the cemetery.
